Staying Consistent

” It’s not motivation that keeps you writing.  It’s writing that keeps you motivated.”

~ Author Unknown

Kind of an interesting quote, don’t you think?

The more I think about it, this is actually true for me.  I find I’ll stay more motivated when I’m consistent with my blog writing, and am able to see my accomplishments – compared to searching for motivation and inspiration on other various sites, while I leave my blog abandoned in the dust for some time (yes, this has happened).  It really only makes it all the more difficult to get up and going again (not to mention it loses readers).

It’s true for me, that nothing beats the motivation of seeing myself not giving up.  That’s what it really is.

Oh, and a number of faithful readers helps a lot too.  ;)

  1. LOL ! I like your post !

Never give up for the Lord and His Glory. For sure we have an influence on people; and it’s a pleasure to write. Personnally my blog is for me a kind of spiritual book where I record my life with the Lord, my fears, my good moments… I enjoy blogging, and seeing your blog I think you do too !

(Especially when you have readers LOL, I understand. More people reading, more fun and best of all, more chance for people to hear about the Gospel).

    Love you !

    Stephanie

    • Haha, thanks!

Yes, I do enjoy blogging. Though, because I’m known for being the “all or nothing” type, it’s hard for me to find that motivation again when I haven’t been blogging in a while. If that’s the case, I sometimes find myself kind of giving up. So, I found this quote to be true for me, as I get a lot of motivation through my own consistent writing! :)

LOL, of course!! It IS way more fun. And definitely a blessing, as any person who owns a blog has the opportunity to make an impact on others – that’s a big motivator!

  2. Kira,

Thanks for this post! Bronte, Grace, and I really need to work on planning for our blog. Do you have any ideas for our blog? This post was really encouraging to me. Thank you!

    Grace and Peace,
    Becca

    • Hey Becca!

      Thank you so much!

As far as blog ideas… I’d have to say I am lacking in that myself! There are days where something comes to me, and then there are those dry spells… :)

I just headed over to your blog, and I think you guys have been doing a great job for post ideas. Keep up the good work!

      Blessings,
      ~ Kira

  3. Well I am not one to give advice on consistency because lately I have been remiss in posting to my blog. I am not short of ideas I have a whole journal full of half written blog posts and articles as well as short tidbits of brilliance that are hidden within the cyberpages of that same journal. I looked back through these the other day and was astounded at how much information was kept on those pages. Many good and probably some great articles are just waiting to be finished and shared with the world.

But alas here I sit commenting on your blog when I should be posting to mine. Perhaps I will take a few minutes and post one of those sitting in my journal.

I enjoy reading your posts primarily because I enjoy hearing from you. It is nice to hear what your thinking or contemplating. Keep writing and I will keep reading. OR not it is up to you. :)

  4. Love it! I guess the quote is true for me too…only I have some trouble finding time to blog. I’ll find time somehow…

Oh, and count me as one of your faithful readers! :)

    Hugs,
    Chloe

  5. Wow Kira, Microsoft Translator did a good job !

I am often tempted too to go check the statistics of my blog and its popularity, as well as the number of comments. We were made to serve the Lord and to give all glory to him and HIM only.

I’m happy that you can “read” my blog ! No limits in Christ, right !

P:S I tried to reply you on the post but it didnt worked… But I replied you on the coconut post.

    Love you !

    • Oh, good! I’m glad! I would of read more of your posts, but it just gets so time consuming with the translator!

Exactly! That was a great post! Keep up the good work, Stephanie!

Okay, I’ll had there and check it out! :)

      • I’ll see you not on this weekend but the one after it God willing. I have a lot of exams and I need, as we said previously, to not be bound to our ministry. As Paul Washer said we should have not a passion for ministy, nor for evangelism, nor for theology but for GOD and HIM ONLY.

And this requires time alone with HIM in prayer.

        Blessings and prayer,

        Your Sister Stéphanie

  6. Thank you for stopping by my blog and for your good wishes. I’m still moving a little slowly, so maybe I’ll let there be only one pair of footsteps in the sand for a while. I’m sure He won’t mind. ~hehe~ I’ve read your post and I love your philosophy, and your outlook on things. I’m not sure I understand your entire blog and where you’re going with it, but who cares right as long as I blend in with the thoughts. Still looking for a follow button. My favorite saying is “Oh Lord, fill my mouth with worthwhile stuff and nudge me when I’ve said enough” have a good day!

    • Thank you for stopping here also!

Oh, I don’t have a follow button… but you can still “follow” me if you want by subscribing to my blog via Feedburner (in the right sidebar). It will notify you with an email whenever I update with a new post. :)

Well, you continue to take things easy…

      Haha, and good “saying”!

      Blessings,
      ~ Kira

  7. I saw your web site when I was browsing for something else, but this page was on the first page of Bing your site must be incredibly popular! Keep up the good work!
