I thought I’d share another recipe with you guys.
This is one of my dad’s absolute favorites! I actually made these for dinner the other night.
Ingredients for Buttermilk Belgian Waffles:
- 2 cups all purpose flour (we use whole wheat)
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, separated (whites and yolks)
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
Combine dry ingredients, set aside. Combine egg yolks, buttermilk and butter; add to flour mixture, stirring briskly until well blended.
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; carefully fold into batter. Spoon 1/2 cup into pre-heated, well oiled waffle maker until golden brown. Serve immediately or keep warm in a single layer on a rack in a 200 degree oven.
**Best served with Wilderness canned Cherry Pie Filling and whip cream on top, or pure maple syrup**
Note: We always double the recipe, and freeze the left overs. Then we can pop the frozen waffles in the toaster the next morning.

You’re making me hungry, Kira! I wish we had a waffle maker… but I can’t find one without the Teflon. Bad for you. But some waffles would be fine for my dinner!
I like your meals!! That sounds so good!!
One of our family friends once ate brownies for dinner (and it was the Mum’s idea!)
It looks nice!
yummm.. I could almost eat the pic of it!
