Check out: the worst coffee drinks for your diet shown on the Today’s Show yesterday. It’s not until you see the video will you start to think twice before in-taking another one of those “energy drinks.” The calories in those things are astonishing!
I reccomend that you check out the links above. Searching for smarter alternatives, and making these simple swaps every day they say can help you lose 10, 20, or even 30 pounds in a year — without even dieting!
I, personally, am not a big coffee drinker. Mainly because coffee is just too hard on my stomach, so I don’t worry too much about cutting back obviously. Though, every once in a while, especially during the hot days in summer I will have one of those homemade iced coffees that my mom loves to whip up.
Ingredients: coffee, lot’s of ice, milk, hazelnut creamer and chocolate syrup: blend, and pour into glasses. (To cut more calories you can use skim milk, fat free hazelnut creamer, and skip the chocolate.) I don’t think I could give you exact measurements since amounts vary each time we make it. But either way, it is quite good and you will feel better about drinking it.
We refrigerate our left over coffee in a container, so we have it on hand at all times. For a quick drink, we just mix the cold coffee, the ice, and hazelnut creamer. We do buy whole beans, the Caribou Breakfast blend or Starbucks that we grind daily. (My dad’s Foldgers does NOT make a good cold coffee drink.)
