Good Ol’e Pancakes

While my mom, Kelly, and Kristina were out and about running errands this morning, Ryan and I decided to make pancakes.  :)

Our all time favorite pancakes are the ones we make using the boxed Bisquick mix, but we came to realize after looking through our pantry, that we had run out!  So, we reverted to the good old fashioned homemade pancakes instead.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

    Directions:

    1. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth.
    2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

Ryan did a pretty good job pooring the batter on the griddle.  :)   He wanted to do everything by himself.  (He even cracked the egg perfectly!)

We even made ones with chocolate chips!  Those were SO good!DSCF1160

Anyways…just thought I’d share that with you.  Ryan said he wanted me to post about it on my blog, and he told me to tell you that they’re called, “Ryan’s #1 Pancakes”.  He sure loved ‘em!

    1. Those look good. I wish I would have come by when I was making brunch, I would have thought more about making some pancakes. We never use a box mix. We always make ours from scratch. Mom made her own recipe for it, which I will have to post soon. I made hashbrowns for the first time, and they turned out great. I will be posting the recipe for that soon too… :)

Thanks for your comment. I replied to it on the post. :)

      • Haha, yeah, you should have! :)

Yeah, my mom usually prefers us to make it from scratch too, using the whole wheat flour, flaxseed, evaporated cane juice for the sugar… but we tend to make the Bisquick pancakes more since we love it so much. Unhealthy, yes. But good! hehe.

        Thanks for your comment!

    2. Looks awesome! Can’t wait to try this recipe!

      God Bless!
