The Beginning of the Wrap Skirt

Sewing is a great skill to know, and I’ve been really wanting to get into it more, and learn how to make some skirts.  So, my grandma came over a couple days ago and we spent some of the morning working on making a wrap skirt for me!

Here are a couple pictures…

It was really fun.  We were able to get the pattern cut out, and all pinned before my sister and I had to leave for a surprise party… :)  all that’s left now is the sewing part!  I’m looking to do that this week.

  1. Cool! I really enjoy the finished product when I make a skirt! You’re right, sewing is such a beneficial skill, but I don’t like it too much. :) The only kind of skirt I’ve done is one with an elastic waist, which is really easy! I hope you will show pictures when your skirt is done, because I’d love to see it!

  2. Yes, I will! Thank you for your comment, Allison!

Oh, and can I add you to my blogroll? I love your blog!

  3. Yes, sewing is a good skill to know. The material for your skirt looks pretty, and I’m sure the skirt will turn out lovely! I look forward to seeing the finished product. :D
I’m in the middle of making a retro style dress. It’s the sample dress to make sure the pattern will work. After I finish the sample, I hope to make the same dress out of the real material.

    God Bless,

  4. Hey!!! I’ve seen your blog on the blogroll many times, but I haven’t gotten around to visting until now! I really like the set up you have here. btw, you’re one of the few people I know who has that quiz (are you a good person) on their website. Where did you find it? Have you ever heard of Ray Comfort? You have a lot of links here to a lot of things I read online! As far as I see it that’s really cool!! So anyway, you’re it! Tag me back if you ever get around to it. I’m on that blogroll Miss Jocelyn made – Go Therefore and Be Light. God bless you and keep you, the Lord make His face shine upon you!

  5. I can’t wait to see what it looks like when you’re done. I know it will be lovely. I’m glad your grandma is able to show you that skill. None of my grandparents or family knows how. My mom has just learned within the past few years so I don’t have that much of an example. lol

  6. Kira,
You are welcome to have my blog on your blogroll! Thank you!
BTW, Your Scripture tags look awesome!!!

  7. Oh Kira! Sewing is so much fun! I hope your skirt turns out nicely and that you continue pursuing this valuable skill.

  8. That looks so fun! I’ve been wanting to sew a skirt (or something) too! Please make sure you post pics when you’re done!

    Love,
    Bronte

  9. I will definitely keep everyone updated on the skirt!

And since this is something that my grandma and I are doing together, we only work on it when she’s here. :)
